We did it!
This is one of the highlights that won TF in the cheerdance competition during last Sunday's opening of trimedialympics 2005.
special thanks should go to TF's genman, Sir Bhoy for feeding the entire participants, including one of the muchachas, bitesize hotdogs. Yum! and of course Gary Lao's itlog with onions, or shall i say, onions mixed with itlog. actually, the strength that kept our cheerdancers going despite the lack of sleep and stress and their skimpy outfits, which were new to them, could be attributed to the onions from gary's manila-style cooking. pampalakas nang enery! sir bhoy was quoted as saying during the victory party at the marketing building just after the group left from Cebu Coliseum. again, thanks to gary (sikata oi!).
and of course, credits should also go to the cheerdance master, kikay , sister of TF's lay-our specialist, chenise, who by the way, is having her rest at Velez Hospital bec of exhaustion and all. kikay, the youngest of them all and the most patient person on earth, should well deserve most of the praises for coming up such unique steps in cheerdancing. and i say patience (she's got loads of it, thank God), well she got one group of pasaways who were with her every night for the past weeks. thanks kikay!
then, the cheer leader, sona, of course. the hope was actually in her hands and she did more than just give TF the prize money but the winning moment it badly craved for its aim in staying on top. every group needs a leader who must do his/her best to beat all odds, and all these she successfully managed to conquer. Thanks to her inspiration, her fans/admirers/beaus, who are actually the only ones unhappy with their victory as it would mean the end of their long nights of “practice.” Good luck boys!
Success would not also be possible without the cheerdances themselves. They were pasaways in a way but they made the team won bec of their guts to wear those outfits they had never worn in their entire lifetime but had to wear them because they had no choice, I mean the girls. Actually it was they who suggested such style, and it was just as well: they really looked good and they most likely felt the same. Look at their smiles! Their only rival was like a singer singing after Regine Velasquez (and their costume! Think: Julie’s bakeshop) goodness!
Finally, thanks and praises should go to Señor Sto. Niño (no more explanation!).

we are serious here (honest!)

The Freeman people trying to be serious. obviously, they failed. but at least they tried.
The Most Controversial Picture, ever!

controversial bec the girls here were fighting over the custody of this one and the three others. one of them (who refused to be named) wanted to keep those damn pictures for future use, e.i. easy identification when one, if not all, of them commits a crime (bank robbery, seduction, among others of which they are likely to get involved in), or as keepsake if they decide to have sex change which, again, is very likely. however, the remaining four also wanted to have them, too. so without the knowledge of the first claimant/custodian designate (by her!), the four, or the three as the other one refused to become respondent of the crime, 'filched' (okay, took) the three other pictures, i mean the hard copies, well after she (the custodian) had them scanned. this custodian, one hot afternoon, discovered that the pictures she was thinking of keeping for her lifetime (till age 29) were already gone from her workplace.
whoelse would she ask for them but from those who were also in those lovely pictures or those who have carnal desires of the subjects (save for the custodian). however, those girls denied having taken them. the custodian was furious for it, who would not be. she'd rather have the computer (pentium 4) of hers be taken without her permission, it isn't hers anyway or her car towed (she doesn't have one, neither) than come to her place to discover her new-found treasure. her last suspect: those having carnal desires of the other girls.
to make the story short (it's already long, BTW) the three subjects in those four photos (four copies of basically the same posing, so significant!) finally admitted they had the copies (well, the other one was earlier given to the other girl, so the questioned photos were now downlisted to 3). but this was before the custodian had said something 'hurtful', although not intended for the three girls but for the 'filchers' (sorry for the word), the custodian was heard explaining in a closed-door meeting that night. unknown to this custodian that those filchers (she later on changed to 'takers') were also the three girls, they divided themselves the remaining 3 photos. good grief!
there were no exchage of words as they were silent the whole afternoon that day. the custodian was really mad (nope, she was not wearing a straight jacket) bec these girls whom she believed were her friends lied to her.
only that night, when they had this closed-door meeting when everything was made clear. the other girls explained they took the pictures, without her permission bec they believed she would never give any of them to anyone. the custodian, for her part, told them "you could have those bullshit pictures all to yourselves!"
anyway, they had a laugh about the incident but the custodian wanted to make it clear as their workmates were also making a laugh at them for almost having a rift just bec of those pictures, that it was not just about the pictures. it was about friendship and trust (and honesty)!
